The purpose of the Suzuki Academy of Strings is to provide music education through the instruction of Suzuki violin and viola. The highest quality of instruction is provided while instilling the love of music education.

The Suzuki approach is based on the "mother tongue" method.  This differs from traditional methods in that it can involve teaching the student at a very young age.   This requires participation on the part of the parent in the role of home teacher.  Formal training in Suzuki may begin as early as age four.  The student listens  to daily recordings of the Suzuki repertoire for strong technique, intonation, and tone production.  Note reading is incorporated in the instruction when the student achieves the appropriate skill level.
